The Plan

Welcome to Social Savvy Geek, the blog. My plan is to delve into the ever-changing world of Social Media and to share my insights along the way. I will provide how-to advice for newcomers and hopefully even add some knowledge to the tool-belts of some more advanced users. I can promise you that I will share my opinions on the people and programs that I encounter on my journey; those of you who are already familiar with me can readily believe that! My goal will be to educate, empower, and entertain folks as I introduce various topics relating to Social Media, Marketing, and PR. I plan to primarily focus on small business owners, solo-preneurs, and non-profits, but a few corporate topics may sneak in from time to time if they catch my fancy.

Outside of writing about Social Media, I am an avid user of Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and Foursquare (and I occasionally pop in on MySpace and a few other sites just to see if there is anything worthwhile going on). I love to try out new apps for the iPhone and I love my MacBook, so all of the software that I use is Mac friendly. My current love is Hootsuite on both my phone and laptop and I am sure that the owl will get plenty of attention from me here in the near future. I will share personal experiences as well as more “sharable” resources. Feel free to repost, retweet, or use any material that will help you in presentations, but please give credit if you do so!

If you have a question about a particular topic please ask and I will do my best to answer it here. I may have an article or presentation from my business waiting in the wings that could be just the thing! I will happily provide resources and general advice here, but if you require one on one help- please check out my reasonable rates!

Be part of the conversation. Share!
