My Philosophies on Marketing

Both online and offline marketing are important! People often assume that I would recommend only online activities as an online marketing specialist, but no!
  • You can do one or the other exclusively
  • It’s easier to do some of each
  • How you mix the two is up to you

Planning makes a huge difference. You should invest some time to create the following:

  • Business Plan
  • Marketing Plan
  • Marketing Calendar
  • Editorial Calendar

Your marketing goals should be tied to business objectives. You need to know your numbers to make future projections and to track and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of your marketing activities.

My Marketing Mix

In the coming shows I’m going to take you through how to plan and implement your own marketing program. To give you an idea of what that could look like for I’ll share my activities as an example.
I’ve been in business for 8 years so my activities have changed drastically over time. Your own program will depend very much on where you are in your business. Make sure you don’t compare yourself to me or others - every business situation a little bit different.

*Hint* Sometimes I screw up... just like everyone else... and that's okay. Perfection in marketing is a myth and it paralyzes people. Who can be perfect? Let's agree to let that go, shall we? *Hint*
I promote my business heavily online. There are multiple reasons for this including that it's quite effective. Let's not overlook the fact that I do this for a living! Not only do I try to lead by example, I also love what I do and it is my genius.
Your marketing mix will be determined by your time, talents, and goals among other factors.
